Madison CAN was organized in August to provide "last dollar" funding and college access and assistance for seniors in Madison County's public high schools, according to a news release. KnoxAchieves used funds from a $904,000 grant from the Tennessee Higher Education Commission to launch tnAchieves in January, the release said. Travelers should expect construction and lane closures on Interstate 240 in Shelby County as a widening project gets under way this week.
